A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.

Rev. Bill Unger

Greetings! Thanks for checking out my bio page. I am Rev. Bill Unger. I spent my growing up years in Beechy, Saskatchewan, doing my best to not get into too much trouble. I moved to Saskatoon so that I could attend (and convocated from) the University of Saskatchewan. I attended St. Andrew’s College and received my D. Min in 1988. After being ordained by Saskatchewan Conference I was settled to La Ronge United Church in 1988. I moved to the Fort St. John Pastoral Charge (on the Alaska Highway) in 1992 and returned to Saskatoon in 2009 when I became the Minister at St. David’s Trinity United Church.

I met my partner, Christine, while we were both working in La Ronge. Our son, Aaron was born in La Ronge and our daughter, Shaleen, was born in Fort St. John.

Having grown up near Lake Diefenbaker I thought the fishing was pretty good there. It has nothing on the fishing on Lac La Ronge!

I like to golf although finding time to enjoy the game over the past few years has been difficult.

Christine and I love to travel. We’ve been across Canada many times and enjoyed several ‘big’ trips around the world.

I am very much looking forward to working with the good folks at Mayfair United Church as we walk our journey of faith together!

Warren Hay

Mayfair United Church is lucky to have Warren Hay as our worship pianist. Warren has been with Mayfair Church for 19 years and when he is not teaching elementary school he can be found playing Double Bass in the Saskatoon Symphony or in various jazz or rock combos around Saskatoon. Warren's piano playing brings warmth, joy and beauty into our worship service.

My 4 children and 10 grandchildren live in Saskatoon and Pilot Butte.

I was a registered nurse for 27 years, before going back to university to study theology. Following ordination, I served as a congregational minister in 3 pastoral charges in Saskatchewan from 2007-2012. I have also served as a prison chaplain for 8 years, in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

I am passionate about social justice, inclusivity, truth, non-judgment, respect, spiritual care/counseling, worship, sacraments, preaching, meditation, and teaching.

I am also passionate about pork chops cooked with lemon and garlic, peanut M&Ms, nature, reading, puzzles, crosswords, and dancing.
